The Haryana government initiated the “Allowance to Eunuchs Scheme” through its Department of Social Justice and Empowerment on June 1, 2006. This program aims to provide financial support to eunuchs residing across various regions of Haryana, enhancing their living standards and promoting their welfare.

Overview of the Scheme

Launched to empower one of the most marginalized communities, the “Allowance to Eunuchs Scheme” has evolved significantly since its inception. Initially, the monthly allowance was set at ₹300. However, the government has progressively increased this assistance to better meet the needs of beneficiaries:

  • ₹1400 per month starting from January 1, 2016
  • ₹1600 per month from November 1, 2016
  • ₹1800 per month from November 1, 2017
  • ₹2000 per month from November 1, 2018
  • ₹2250 per month from January 1, 2020
  • ₹2500 per month from April 1, 2021
  • ₹2750 per month from April 1, 2023

Benefits of the Scheme

The key advantage of this initiative is the financial assistance provided to eunuchs, which currently stands at ₹2750 per month. Additionally, it is important to note that once an applicant reaches the age of 60, their case will transition to the Old Age Allowance Scheme for continued support.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the benefits under the “Allowance to Eunuchs Scheme,” applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Permanent resident of Haryana, residing in the state for at least the past 5 years.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a certificate from the Civil Surgeon verifying their status as a eunuch.
  • Must not be engaged in any illegal activities.

Application Process

Eligible individuals can apply for the allowance through two methods: offline and online. Below are the detailed steps for each method.

Offline Application Process

  1. Visit the office of the Social Welfare Department (DSWO) in your Block or District to obtain the application form. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from the Official Website.
  2. Complete the application form, ensuring that all required documents are attached.
  3. Have the application form attested by the relevant authority as specified in the form.
  4. Submit the completed application form to the DSWO office in your Block or District.

Online Application Process

To apply online, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Antyodaya-SARAL Portal.
  2. If you are already a registered user, log in with your credentials. If not, register by providing the necessary details.
  3. Click on “Check Your Eligibility” and enter your personal details.
  4. Select the department name: Social Justice and Empowerment, or search by the scheme name.
  5. Click on “Apply for Service/Scheme.”
  6. Fill in all mandatory information in the application form and submit it.

Benefits

1. The financial assistance of ₹2750/- will be given by the state government to eunuchs who are living in various parts of the State.
Note: If a Eunuch attains the age of 60 years his case will be transferred to Old Age Allowance Scheme.

Step 01: The applicant needs to visit the office of the Social Welfare Department (DSWO) in his/her Block/District and collect the application form. The application form
can also be downloaded from the Official Website
of the Department.
Step 02: The applicant should fill out the application form and attach all the essential documents.
Step 03: After filling out the application form, the applicant needs to get attested to the form from the concerned authority as mentioned in the application form.
Step 04: Then the application form should be submitted to the office of the Social Welfare Department (DSWO) of your Block/District.
