Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for Assistance to MSMEs: Rehabilitation of Sick Enterprises

The “Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for Assistance to MSMEs” is a transformative initiative designed to bolster the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat. This scheme plays a crucial role in enhancing the economic landscape of the state by promoting job creation, contributing significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and boosting exports.

Overview of the Scheme

Launched by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat, the “Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for MSMEs” serves as a comprehensive framework aimed at strengthening the MSME sector. This initiative is effective from October 5, 2022, and will continue until October 4, 2027. It embodies the vision of “Aatmanirbhar Gujarat” (Self-Reliant Gujarat) and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) by facilitating growth, promoting investment, and providing necessary support to the MSME ecosystem. A key component of this scheme is the “Rehabilitation of Sick Enterprises,” which specifically aids those MSME units classified as sick based on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) criteria by subsidizing certain costs associated with preparing diagnostic reports and rehabilitation plans.

  • Cost Reimbursement: The scheme offers a reimbursement of 50% of the expenses incurred in preparing the Draft Rehabilitation Scheme.
