Launched by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat, the “Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for assistance to Large Industries and Thrust Sector” seeks to bolster the large industry sector, which plays a pivotal role in employment generation, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, and export activities. The scheme is effective from October 5, 2022, and will continue until October 4, 2027. Its primary objective is to promote growth and investments in alignment with the goals of “Aatmanirbhar Gujarat” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

The EPF Reimbursement component of this scheme provides financial support to qualifying large industrial entities in Gujarat, specifically aimed at reimbursing the employers’ contribution to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) for newly hired employees. This financial assistance can be availed for a maximum duration of ten years from the commencement date of commercial production.

  • Full Reimbursement: 100% reimbursement of the statutory EPF contributions for eligible new employees.
  • Financial Limit: The reimbursement is capped at 12% of the employee’s basic salary along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and retaining allowance or ₹1800 per month, whichever is lesser.
  • Long-Term Support: Eligible entities can avail reimbursement for up to ten years from the initiation of commercial production.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The entity must be a newly established large industrial undertaking or an existing one that is expanding or diversifying its operations.
  • Registration and acknowledgment from DPIIT are mandatory for the large industrial undertaking.
  • Commercial production must commence within the operational timeframe of the scheme.
  • The undertaking must hire new employees who do not possess a Universal Account Number (UAN) prior to their employment.
  • The applicant should not have received EPF reimbursement from any other state or central government schemes during the same timeframe.

Exclusions

Entities that have previously availed EPF reimbursement under any central or state government schemes during the same period will not be eligible for the EPF incentive under this scheme.

Application Process

Online Application Steps:

  1. Access the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select “New Investor Registration” to fill out the registration form.
  2. Complete the registration form and click on “Submit.”
  3. Confirm your email address by clicking the verification link sent to your registered email.
  4. Upon successful verification, your registration will be finalized.

Post-Registration Steps:

  1. Log in to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) using your registered email and password.
  2. Fill in the required details and upload mandatory documents pertaining to your business to complete the application.

Eligibility Criteria

The industry should commence commercial production during the scheme's operative period.

Benefits

Step-4: Now fill in the required details and mandatory documents about your business to complete the application process.
