The “Adivasi Sanskriti Evam Kala Kendra/Majhi Bhavan, Manki Munda Bhavan, Parha Bhavan, Pargana Bhavan, Dumkuria Bhavan Evam Gosade Nirman Tatha Majhi Than Shed Nirman Yojana” is an initiative by the Welfare Department of Jharkhand. This scheme is designed to safeguard and promote the rich tribal culture and traditions of the state by establishing vital cultural infrastructure.

About This Scheme

Launched by the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities, and Backward Classes Welfare Department of the Jharkhand government, this scheme focuses on the preservation, protection, and development of tribal culture and heritage. It aims to construct essential facilities such as community centers, cultural hubs, and traditional venues, which will act as central points for cultural and social engagements within tribal communities.

  • Financial Assistance: Projects can receive funding ranging from ₹25,00,000 to ₹5,00,00,000, depending on the project’s scope and the infrastructure requirements.
  • Cultural Centers Construction: Establishment of dedicated centers like Majhi Bhavans, Dumkuria Bhavans, and Pargana Bhavans aimed at preserving tribal culture.
  • Infrastructure Development: Development of basic facilities, including boundary walls, multipurpose halls, drinking water systems, seating areas, driveways, and parking spaces.
  • Cultural Beautification: Incorporating tribal-themed landscaping, murals, and decorations to vividly represent and celebrate tribal traditions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must represent a village with a notable tribal demographic.
  • A recognized traditional tribal leader, such as a Manki, Munda, or Pahan, must be present in the applicant village.
  • The beneficiary committee should be organized under the guidance of tribal leaders, consisting of 7 to 11 tribal members.
  • The village must possess government-sanctioned land designated for the construction of the proposed infrastructure.

Exclusions

  • Villages lacking recognized tribal leadership (Manki, Munda, etc.) are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Individuals from non-tribal communities cannot be part of the beneficiary committee.

Application Process

Apply Offline

  • Formation of Beneficiary Committee:
    • Conduct a Gram Sabha meeting within the eligible villages.
    • Establish a committee led by recognized tribal leaders.
    • Designate roles such as chairperson, secretary, and treasurer among committee members.
  • Proposal Submission:
    • Submit the completed proposal to the District Welfare Officer (DWO) or the ITDA Project Director.
    • Ensure the proposal is accompanied by all necessary documentation.
  • Approval Process:
    • The District Welfare Officer will evaluate and then forward the proposal for technical and administrative review.
    • The final approval will be issued by the department, with funds being allocated accordingly.
