The Ayurswasthya Yojana, introduced by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, is dedicated to enhancing the health and rehabilitation of athletes through AYUSH-based interventions. This initiative aims to address sports injuries and promote overall fitness among sports persons, aligning with the national Fit India Movement that encourages physical activity and wellness.
About the Scheme
Under the “Ayurswasthya Yojana,” the “AYUSH for Sports Medicine” initiative is designed to deliver comprehensive AYUSH treatment and rehabilitation services to athletes. This innovative approach focuses on utilizing traditional Indian systems of medicine, such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, to effectively manage sports-related injuries and foster better health among sports professionals.
Key Benefits
- Financial Support: The scheme offers a maximum grant of ₹1,00,00,000 for a single project, with a duration of 18 months.
- The funding will be disbursed in two phases: an initial installment of 60% followed by a second installment of 40%. The latter will be released upon the submission of documented expenditure for at least 75% of the initial funds and acceptance of the Utilization Certificate (UC).
Eligibility Criteria
- AYUSH teaching institutions and hospitals are eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Applicants must have collaborations with recognized national and international sports organizations, including but not limited to:
- Sports Authority of India
- All India Football Federation
- Indian Olympic Association
- Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
- International Cricket Council (ICC)
Application Process
Online Application
To apply online, follow these steps:
- Visit the Ayush NGO Portal.
- Complete all required fields and upload the necessary documents.
- Verify the captcha and click on “Register.” If needed, you can click “Cancel” to abandon changes.
Login Process
To log in to the Ayush NGO Portal:
- Access the Ayush NGO Portal.
- Enter your registered email ID and password.
- Type the captcha and click on “Login.”
Offline Application
Eligible organizations may also apply using the prescribed format (Annexure-A) along with a comprehensive proposal in duplicate. Applications should be sent to:
Director (Schemes),Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy,
AYUSH Bhawan, B-Block, GPO Complex, INA,
New Delhi – 110023.

Eligibility Criteria
The AYUSH teaching Institutions and AYUSH hospitals can apply for the scheme.
The Institutions/ Organisations should be having collaboration with only recognized National and International sports bodies such as the Sports Authority of India, All India Football Federation, Indian Olympic Association, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), International Cricket Council (ICC), etc.
Benefits
Financial Assistance:
Maximum grant of ₹1,00,00,000/- for one project for 18 months.
The funds will be released in two installments of 60% and 40% of the total amount sanctioned. The second installment will be released after receiving expenditure of at least 75% of the released amount and after acceptance of UC thereof.
