Appointment of Contract Sports Coaches
The scheme facilitates the annual appointment of contract-based sports coaches to conduct various local training camps across Uttarakhand, thereby promoting employment opportunities and strengthening the state’s grassroots sports infrastructure.
About This Scheme
The scheme “Appointment of Contract Sports Coaches” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to appoint sports coaches on a contract basis to ensure the smooth functioning of local training camps for various sports across the state.
Benefits
Every year, around 250 coaches benefit from these training camps and gain employment.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a sportsperson or a coach from Uttarakhand.
The applicant must be between 21 and 70 years of age.
The applicant must possess the relevant educational and sports qualifications.
The sports coach is not required to be a domicile or permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
Application Process

The department organizes local training camps for various sports every year. To ensure the smooth functioning of these camps, sports coaches are appointed on a contractual basis.
At the district level, applications for conducting local training camps are submitted by the District Sports Officers.
Each year, a notification regarding the scheme is published in daily newspapers, usually in the month of March. The training camps are then organized for a maximum duration of 11 months, from 15th April to 15th March.
