The initiative “Empower ST/SC Communities using ICT Tools through IT Knowledge Centre (ITKC)” is spearheaded by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication of the Government of Goa. This scheme is designed to cultivate a vast workforce proficient in computer skills, thereby facilitating the effective implementation of e-governance solutions and enhancing employment opportunities in IT and IT-enabled services.
Overview of the Scheme
The “Empower ST/SC Communities using ICT Tools through IT Knowledge Centre (ITKC)” aims to ensure that the youth, housewives, and other community members acquire essential computer skills. By doing so, the scheme intends to create a significant number of IT-literate individuals, which is vital for the state’s economic development and job creation in sectors like BPO and software services. The IT Knowledge Centres (ITKCs) are established in various locations throughout the state, with M/s Info Tech Corporations of Goa Ltd acting as the implementing agency.
Objectives of the Scheme
- To equip local youth and housewives with fundamental computer skills.
- To offer a variety of job-oriented IT training programs, particularly for BPO operations and call center positions.
- To provide structured training programs tailored to community needs.
- To ensure at least one member from every household in Goa becomes IT literate.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this scheme, candidates must belong to the Schedule Tribe (ST) or Schedule Caste (SC) communities.
Application Procedure

- Step 2: Complete all mandatory fields in the application, attach a passport-sized photograph, and include necessary documents.
