The “Goa State Cultural Award for Institutions” initiative, spearheaded by the Directorate of Art and Culture under the Government of Goa, aims to honor and elevate the contributions made by cultural institutions in the domain of arts and culture. This scheme not only celebrates excellence but also provides significant support to promote cultural development across the state, fostering an environment where new artistic talents can flourish.

The “Goa State Cultural Award for Institutions” is a prestigious recognition designed to appreciate and promote the exemplary work done by institutions in the field of arts and culture. By doing so, it aims to invigorate cultural institutions within Goa, thereby inspiring others to nurture and develop artistic talents.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To acknowledge and honor the institution that stands out as the premier cultural institution in Goa.
  • To provide a significant boost to cultural institutions, encouraging them to support and cultivate artistic talents, leading to exceptional creative outputs.
  • To foster and enhance a vibrant cultural atmosphere within the state.
  • To formally recognize institutions for their outstanding achievements and contributions.

Benefits

Winning institutions will receive:

  • A commemorative memento
  • A financial grant of up to ₹ 3,00,000

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the award, institutions must meet the following requirements:

  • The applicant must be a Goan institution, or an institution that supports Goan artists, actively engaged in the arts and culture sector.
  • The institution should have a minimum operational history of 15 years.
  • It must have made significant contributions to the arts and culture landscape.
  • The institution should have a well-defined managing body, with clear powers and responsibilities laid out in its constitution.
  • It should maintain a reputable standing within the local community.
  • Cultural institutions supported by Central Government Corporations and Municipalities are also eligible for consideration.

Reservation / Preference / Priority

Institutions that focus on Cultural Education, particularly those providing training in music, dance, drama, and fine arts, will be given priority when selecting award recipients.

Application Process

To apply for the “Goa State Cultural Award for Institutions,” interested parties should follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa, located at 5th Floor, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa – 403001.
  2. Obtain a printed copy of the application proforma for the scheme, or request a physical copy from the relevant authority.
  3. Complete the application form by filling in all required fields, affixing a passport-sized photograph (signed across), and attaching all necessary documents (self-attested where applicable).

Application Deadline

Applicants must submit their applications within 30 days from the date the advertisement appears in the newspaper.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should be a Goan institution (or institution working for Goan artists) working in the field of Art and culture.
The institution should have completed 15 years.
The institution should have given extraordinary contributions to the field of Art and culture.
The institution should have a properly constituted managing body with its powers and duties clearly defined in its constitution.
The institution should have a good reputation in the local community.
The cultural institutions that are financed by the Central Government Corporations, and Municipalities are also eligible.

Reservation / Preference / Priority
Preference will be given to the institutions involved in Cultural Education i.e. imparting Training in Music, Dance, Drama, Fine Arts etc.

Benefits

A Memento and a Financial Purse to the extent of ₹ 3,00,000.

Step 2: Take a print of the proforma
of the application form of the respective scheme, or request a hard copy from the concerned authority.
Step 3: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest if required).
