Organisation of Cultural Programs (संस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन)

The Government of Uttarakhand has launched the “Organisation of Cultural Programs” scheme to support cultural expression and artistic performances. This initiative provides financial assistance to registered cultural groups and artists, enabling them to showcase their talents during various traditional and national events, both within the state and beyond.

Overview of the Scheme

Initiated by the Department of Culture and Endowments, the “Organisation of Cultural Programs” scheme is aimed at fostering cultural heritage through financial support. Registered cultural groups and artists are encouraged to participate in diverse cultural programs that coincide with fairs, festivals, and regional celebrations.

Key Benefits

Upon successful presentation of cultural performances by registered groups or folk singers, the following remuneration and allowances are provided:

• Group Leader: Receives an honorarium of ₹1,000 and a traveling allowance of ₹500.
• Other Artists: Each artist is entitled to an honorarium of ₹800 and a traveling allowance of ₹400.
• Folk Singers:
  • Category A: Honorarium of ₹7,500.
  • Category B: Honorarium of ₹4,250.
  • Additionally, a traveling allowance of ₹300 is provided, along with ordinary bus fare or second-class rail fare for the journey.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

<liThe applicant must be a cultural group or artist registered with the Department of Culture in Uttarakhand.

Application Procedure

Offline Application

To participate in this scheme, cultural groups and artists must apply offline. The Directorate of Culture conducts periodic auditions to select eligible groups and artists. The requirements for applying include the following documents:

• Registration certificate of the organization.
• A copy of the organization’s bylaws.
• Details and numbers of the artists within the group.
• A certificate verifying that the members are either natives or permanent residents of Uttarakhand.

Currently, the Department of Culture has recognized a total of 267 cultural groups and 226 solo artists.
