Pay & Play Scheme (भुगतान और खेल योजना)
The Pay & Play Scheme, initiated by the Government of Jharkhand, seeks to enhance the training and practice facilities available to state-level athletes. This initiative is centered around the Mega Sports Complex located in Hotwar, Ranchi, and encompasses a variety of sports disciplines.
Overview of the Scheme
Launched by the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs of Jharkhand, the Pay & Play Scheme is designed to provide state-level athletes with essential training and practice opportunities. The scheme covers a total of 11 sports disciplines, which include:
- Athletics
- Badminton
- Lawn Tennis
- Table Tennis
- Shooting
- Gymnastics
- Basketball
- Taekwondo
- Volleyball
- Wrestling
- Swimming
Key Benefits of the Scheme
Participants in the Pay & Play Scheme can look forward to the following advantages:
- Comprehensive Training: Athletes receive training across 11 different sports disciplines under professional supervision.
- Free Registration: School students up to Class 10 are entitled to free registration and membership upon receiving a recommendation from their school principal.
- Free Membership: National and international participants and medalists are also exempt from registration fees.
- Special Access: Athletics players are granted 15 days of complimentary access to the facilities (non-repetitive).
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Pay & Play Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The individual must be a resident of Jharkhand.
- Applicants should be recognized sportspersons.
- Active participation in state-level sports is mandatory.
- Students up to Class 10 must provide a recommendation from their school principal, while national and international participants or medalists are also welcomed.
Application Procedure
To apply for the Pay & Play Scheme, candidates can follow these steps:
Offline Application Process
- Download the application form from the official website.
- Complete the form with accurate information and attach the necessary documents.
- Submit the completed form to the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society office.
- Pay the registration fee of ₹50, along with any applicable membership fees.
Note: Other athletes who wish to participate are required to pay the registration and membership fees. For detailed fee structure, please refer to the Fee Table.
