Eligibility Criteria
- For Registration as a Building/Construction Worker:
- The applicant must be a resident of Sikkim.
- The applicant should be recognized as a Building/Construction Worker.
- The age of the applicant must be between 18 and 60 years.
- The applicant should have worked with the Board for a minimum of 90 days within a year.
- For Applying for the Welfare Scheme:
- The worker must be a registered member of the Sikkim Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
- The worker should have sustained a partial disability due to an accident occurring during employment.
Application Procedure
Offline Application Process
The registration and application process for the welfare scheme involves several steps:
Registration Process as a Building/Construction Worker:
- The applicant must submit a completed application form along with the necessary documents to the Registering Officer in their area.
- The Registering Officer will assess the application details and, if satisfied, will register the worker as a beneficiary, issuing an Identity Card in Form XXVIII.
Application Process for the Welfare Scheme:
- After receiving the Identity Card as a Building/Construction Worker, the applicant must download the application form for the welfare scheme and submit it alongside the required documents to the Secretary or an authorized officer at the District Labour Office (self-attested if necessary).
- Upon verifying the applicant’s eligibility for the welfare scheme, the benefits will be processed and provided accordingly.

Apply Offline
Registration Process as a Building/ Construction Worker:
Step 1: The complete application form along with the required documents is required to be submitted to the Registering Officer of the area.
Step 2: The Registering Officer, after satisfying himself/ herself with all the details, may register the worker as a beneficiary under the act and issue an Identity Card in Form XXVIII.
Application Process of the Welfare Scheme:
Step 1: Upon receiving the Identity Card as a Building/ Construction Worker, the applicant needs to download the application form for the concerned welfare scheme and submit the form along with the mandatory documents to the Secretary or any other Officer authorized by him in the District Labour Office (self attested, if required).
Step 2: Later on, verifying the eligibility of the concerned welfare scheme, the applicant may get the benefits.
