- Subsidy Amount: Beneficiaries can receive up to 80% of the total project cost, which is capped at ₹16.70 lakh per acre.
- Subsidy Disbursement: The subsidy is provided in two installments: 60% is released upon completion of pond construction, while the remaining 40% is given after the establishment of supporting units and procurement of necessary inputs.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must either own or lease land within the specified plateau-dominated districts.
- Each individual or family is permitted to construct a pond with a size ranging from a minimum of 0.4 acres to a maximum of 1 acre of water area, which corresponds to a total land area of 0.5 acres.
- It is mandatory for the applicant to install a concrete board at the pond site.
- The board must be crafted from an iron sheet measuring 4 feet by 3 feet, positioned to stand four feet tall at an iron angle, where relevant information will be painted.

Online Registration Steps
To apply for the scheme, follow the outlined steps:

- Choose “Registration for Fisheries Schemes”.
- Select the appropriate category (Individual) and fill in all required details such as applicant name, date of birth, address, caste, and bank information.
- Provide a valid 10-digit mobile number and click on the option to send an OTP.
- Input the OTP received on your mobile.
- Upon successful verification, you will be assigned a Registration Number and Password.
- Log in using the Registration Number and Password provided.
Filling the Application Form
Once registered, applicants should proceed with the following steps to complete the application form:
- Return to the official website and click on the “Applications are being invited for all the schemes of the financial year (2024-25), click here to apply” link.
- If already registered, click on “If you’re already registered, login here”.
- Select “Scheme name” under the “Matsya Yojana” category from the top menu.
- Enter the following details:
- Personal details of the applicant or group leader
- Permanent address
- Bank account information
- Details about the land or pond
- Upload all required documents as specified.
- Submit the application form and print a copy to submit to the District Fisheries Office along with all attachments.
