The “Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students of Socially and Educationally Backward Class” is managed by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Gujarat. Its primary goal is to offer financial assistance to encourage education among students belonging to socially and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. The scholarships are awarded annually to both boys and girls studying in Standards 1 through 10, with the scheme overseen by the Director of Developing Caste Welfare in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

• Boys (Standard 1 to 8): ₹750 per year
• Boys (Standard 9 to 10): ₹1000 per year
• Girls (Standard 1 to 5): ₹500 per year
• Girls (Standard 6 to 10): ₹1000 per year

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must belong to the Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC).
• The applicant should be currently enrolled in Standard 1 to 10.
• Enrollment must be in a Government or Aided Primary/Secondary School.
• For students in Standard 1 to 8, there is no restriction on family income.
• For students in Standard 9 to 10, the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹6,00,000.

Online Application Process

To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:

Registration Steps:

1. Navigate to the Digital Gujarat portal.
2. Click on the “Click to register” option, fill in the required details, and select “Save.”

Login Steps:

1. Access the Digital Gujarat portal.
2. Click on the “Login” option.
3. Enter your details and press “Login.”

New Service Application Steps:

1. After logging in, select the appropriate department.
2. Choose the specific service to apply for within that department.
3. Complete all required fields in the application form.
4. Upload necessary documents or import them directly from DigiLocker.
5. Review all the information entered for accuracy.
6. Submit the application.
7. Follow the payment process to download the certificate.
8. Once payment is successful, the certificate will be available for download.
