The “Scheme for Assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)” has been initiated by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat with the vision of transforming the state into a prominent global business center. This initiative focuses on fostering sustainable manufacturing practices, enhancing the growth of MSMEs, and boosting their competitive edge in exports.
Overview of the Scheme
This scheme serves as an overarching framework aimed at empowering Gujarat’s vibrant MSME sector, which plays a crucial role in job creation, contributing to the state’s GDP, and facilitating exports. Effective from August 7, 2020, to August 6, 2025, the initiative is designed to bolster entrepreneurs and enhance the global competitiveness of MSMEs. A key component of this scheme is “Assistance in Rent to MSEs,” which provides financial support to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) renting a facility for manufacturing purposes.
Benefits of the Scheme
- Financial Support: Eligible MSEs can receive a reimbursement of 65% of the rent paid, capped at ₹1,00,000 per annum.
- Long-term Assistance: The support is available for a maximum duration of five years.
Eligibility Criteria
- The business must qualify as a Micro or Small Enterprise (MSE).
- Engagement in manufacturing activities is mandatory.
- The enterprise must have secured a rented or leased space for operations.
- The property owner must legally possess and own the shed.
- Electricity or power consumption for manufacturing activities is required.
- Assistance eligibility begins from the rent deed date or up to three months before production starts, whichever is later.
Application Process

Online Registration Steps:
- Access the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP). Select “New Investor Registration” to find the registration form.
- Complete the registration form and click “Submit”.
- Confirm your email address via the link sent to your registered email.
- Upon successful verification, your registration will be complete.
Post-Registration Steps:
- Return to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select “Login”.
- Input the email address and password created during registration.
- Press the “Login” button to enter your account.
- Complete the application by filling in necessary details and uploading required documents related to your business.

| Forward and Backward Integration | Forward integration pertains to investments in GFCI for further value addition, while backward integration is for raw material production investments. |
| Diversification | An investment in GFCI for a product different from the existing end product of the enterprise. |
