The “Scheme for Assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)” launched by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat is designed to establish the state as a prominent global business center. The scheme, which is effective from August 7, 2020 to August 6, 2025, provides essential support to both new and existing enterprises, enhancing their global competitiveness.

A key component of this scheme, titled “Assistance for Saving in Consumption of Energy and Water,” offers financial aid to enterprises that implement strategies to minimize their energy and water usage. The initiative incentivizes industries to adopt energy-efficient and water-conserving practices by subsidizing audit costs and providing financial assistance for recommended equipment purchases.

Advantages of the Scheme

  • Reimbursement for Energy/Water Audit: Entrepreneurs can receive a reimbursement of up to 75% of the cost incurred for energy or water audits conducted by recognized institutions, with a maximum limit of ₹50,000 for each audit. This reimbursement is available once throughout the duration of the scheme.
  • Subsidy on Recommended Equipment: A subsidy of 25% of the cost for equipment suggested by the auditing authority is available, capped at ₹20,00,000. This one-time assistance can be availed during the scheme’s operational period.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must either be an established or a new enterprise.
  • An energy or water audit must be carried out by an accredited institution.
  • The enterprise should demonstrate at least a 10% reduction in energy or water consumption post-implementation of the audit recommendations.
  • Installation of equipment must adhere to the recommendations provided by the auditing authority.
  • Enterprises experiencing increased energy or water consumption due to production scaling will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  1. Registration Steps:
    • Navigate to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select “New Investor Registration” to access the registration form.
    • Complete the registration form and click on “Submit.”
    • Verify your email address using the link sent to your registered email.
    • Upon verification, your registration will be successfully completed.
  2. Post-Registration Steps:
    • Return to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select “Login.”
    • Input the email and password used during the registration process.
    • Click the “Login” button to access your account.
    • Fill in the necessary details and upload the required documents pertaining to your business to finalize the application.

Benefits

Reimbursement for Energy/Water Audit:
75% cost of energy/water audit conducted by a recognized institution/ consultant subject to maximum ₹ 50,000/- for each will be reimbursed once during the operative period of the scheme.
Subsidy on Recommended Equipment:
25% of the cost of equipment recommended by the Auditing authority subject to a maximum ₹20,00,000/- one time assistance will be eligible during the operative period of the scheme.
