Scholarship for Engineering and Medical Education
The scheme aims to support the higher education of dependents of ex-servicemen by providing financial assistance for pursuing engineering, medical, and PhD courses. Under this scheme, annual scholarships are awarded to beneficiaries based on their course of study.
About This Scheme
The scheme “Scholarship for Engineering and Medical Education” is implemented by the State Sainik Board under the Sainik Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the dependents of ex-servicemen pursuing Engineering, Medical, or Ph.D. courses.
Benefits
Rate of Scholarship:
₹12,000/- per year for Engineering students
₹15,000/- per year for Medical students
₹10,000/- per year for PhD students
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
The applicant must be a dependent of an ex-serviceman.
The applicant should be pursuing a course in Engineering, Medical, or Ph.D. from a recognized institution.
Note: It is mandatory that the applicant’s correct name is mentioned both in the bank account and the discharge book.

The applicant must apply online on the official website of the Sainik Welfare Department at
www.sainikkalyan.org
The following documents are required for the application: Aadhaar card of the applicant, bank account details, ex-serviceman identity card, discharge book, and a certificate of the course in which the applicant is studying.
After verification of applications at the District Sainik Welfare Office and Directorate level, applicants found eligible are provided the sanctioned amount through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from the Kargil Shaheed Parivar Mukhyamantri Sahayata Kosh.
