The primary goal of this scheme is to preserve the renowned Gir and Kankrej cows, as well as other indigenous breeds, by fostering their breeding through gaushalas and panjrapole institutions. Additionally, the initiative aims to enhance the consumption of Panchagavya products derived from Gir and Kankrej cows, thereby making cow rearing a sustainable economic venture.

Eligibility Criteria
- Gaushalas and panjrapole must be registered under the Public Charity Act.
- A gaushala needs to house more than 50 cows of local breed, while a panjrapole should have over 100 livestock.
- The institution must possess at least 3 acres of land for development work, which should either be owned or leased for a duration of 99 years. There are no restrictions on the maximum land area.
How to Apply
Interested applicants can follow these steps to apply online:
- Visit the I-Khedut Portal at https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/.
- On the homepage, navigate to ‘Schemes’ and select ‘Animal Husbandry Schemes’.
- Choose the relevant scheme and click on the ‘Apply’ button to open the application page.
- Click on the “Apply New” button to fill out a new application.
- If corrections are needed, click on the “Update Application” button.
- Confirm the application once completed.
- Print the application and submit it within 30 days to the board, ensuring it is signed and stamped by the Nodal Officer of the respective district along with the necessary documents.

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at I-Khedut Portal: https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/
Step 2: On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Animal Husbandry Schemes’.
Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button and an application page will open.
Step 4: Click on "Apply New" button and submit a new application.
Step 5: Click on the "Update Application" button to add corrections to the application.
Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it.
Step 7: Take a print out of the online application and submit it to the board within 30 days of application with the signature and stamp of the Nodal Officer
of the concerned district with the necessary documents listed in the application.
