Sero Positive Illness Scheme
Sero Positive Illness Scheme (Sero Positive Bimar Yojana)
The Government of Gujarat, through its Social Justice and Empowerment Department, has introduced the Sero Positive Illness Scheme aimed at providing educational support to orphaned and underprivileged children suffering from Sero Positive illness. This initiative is designed to facilitate educational opportunities for these children, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources for their academic pursuits.
Overview of the Scheme
Initiated in 2009, the Sero Positive Illness Scheme is dedicated to assisting children affected by Sero Positive illness, whether they themselves are afflicted or have parents who are. The scheme extends its support across various educational levels, from primary education to postgraduate studies, by offering financial scholarships. This includes assistance for school uniforms, books, tuition fees, food, and hostel expenses. The scheme is overseen by the Director of the Social Security Department in Gandhinagar, with implementation at the district level managed by the District Social Security Officer or the District Child Protection Officer.
