The scheme aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to people involved in inland fisheries activities.

About This Scheme

The scheme “Fish Seed Rearing” is a component under the “To Increase Fish Seed Production and Inland Fisheries Resources in Tribal Areas” scheme, introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to people involved in inland fisheries activities. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided for fish seed rearing to Scheduled Tribe fishermen, individuals, and other eligible inland fisheries units.

Objectives:

To increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to people involved in inland fisheries activities.

To boost fish farming or fishing activities in fresh water bodies.

Fishing in reservoirs, aquaculture in ponds and catch from rivers increase fish production and boost inland fisheries.

The main objective is to provide employment opportunities to Scheduled Tribe fishermen in the state and increase fish production.

Benefits

Rearing from spawn to fry: The beneficiary will receive ₹90/- per 1,000 numbers. with a minimum 30% recovery. Each beneficiary will be allocated 3,00,000 spawn, and the rearing time will be 30 days.

Rearing from fry to fingerlings: The beneficiary will receive ₹260/- per 1,000 numbers. with a minimum 35% recovery. Each beneficiary will be allocated 2,00,000 fry, and the rearing time will be 60 days.

Rearing from spawn to fingerlings: The beneficiary will receive ₹460/- per 1,000 numbers. with a minimum 12% recovery. Each beneficiary will be allocated 5,00,000 spawn, and the rearing time will be 90 days.

Frequency of Disbursement: The benefits can be reclaimed after a minimum of 1 year.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be Individuals/societies/self-help groups/associations/reservoir monopolies/private units, etc., involved in inland fisheries activities can avail the benefits of inland schemes.

The applicant must be from the Scheduled Tribe community.

The applicant must be above 18 years.

The beneficiary must have his/her own bank account.

The applicant must have an Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Ration Card/Passport as proof of identity.

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the

I-Khedut Portal

Step 2: Click on ‘Login’ from the top right-hand side, then click on “Beneficiary Registration” and select any one from the ‘Farmer’ or ‘Institutional’ or ‘Except For the Farmer’ as the Beneficiary Type.

Step 3: Enter the ‘Company Name’ and Address if you have selected ‘Institutional’ or ‘Except For the Farmer’ as the Beneficiary Type. And for all select the District, Taluka, and Village, choose ‘what type of account holder you are?’, enter your Account Number and Name, solve the Captcha, and click ‘Save and Next’.

Step 4: Enter your Mobile Number and E-mail address, click ‘Send OTP’, enter the received OTP, create and confirm a Password, solve the Captcha, and click ‘Submit’.

Login Process:

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the

Step 2: Click on ‘Login’ from the top right-hand side of the homepage. On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Agricultural Schemes’.

Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button, and an application page will open.

Step 4: Click on the “Apply New” button and submit a new application.

Step 5: Click on the “Update Application” button to add corrections to the application.

Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it.

Step 7: Take a printout of the confirmed application.
