About This Scheme

The “Uttarakhand Oon Yojana” has been implemented by the Uttarakhand Khadi and Village Industries Board under the Department of Industries, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote traditional wool spinning and weaving activities in the state while providing sustainable employment opportunities to local artisans and weavers.

They can carry out spinning and weaving either at the departmental centers or at their own homes. Weavers are compensated for their work according to rates fixed by the Khadi Commission, Government of India, ensuring year-round employment.

To support weavers and spinners, the Khadi & Polyvastra Artisan Welfare and Pension Trust has been established in the state.
