- The deceased worker should have been employed at an establishment registered under the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, and should have consistently contributed to the labour welfare fund recognized by the Board.
- Applicants must provide a death certificate issued by a competent authority along with a self-declaration stating that they are not receiving a pension from any other source.
- Individuals who are beneficiaries of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) are not eligible for this financial assistance.
- The male construction worker must have been a member of the Board for a minimum period of six months prior to his death.
- Applications must be submitted within one year following the death of the male construction worker.
Application Procedure
To apply for the Widow Pension scheme, follow these detailed steps:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of the Labour Department of Chandigarh at http://labour.chd.gov.in/.
- Step 2: On the homepage, locate and select the ‘WIDOW PENSION’ scheme under the Grant of Welfare Schemes section.
- Step 3: Review the scheme’s details. At the bottom of the page, click on ‘Click here to Apply/Register.’ You may also refer to the user manual available on the same page.
- Step 4: If you are a new user, click on ‘register yourself.’ A new ‘ServicePlus’ window will appear where you should fill in all required registration details.
- Step 5: Once registered, click on ‘Apply for Service’ and log in using your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ created during registration.
- Step 6: After logging in successfully, you will be redirected to the online application form by clicking ‘Apply for Service.’
- Step 7: Complete the application form by providing your personal details, selecting the Widow Pension scheme, and entering your workplace information. Ensure all mandatory fields are filled, then click on ‘Self-Declaration’ to provide any additional information.
- Step 8: Enter the verification code or CAPTCHA and hit the ‘Submit’ button.
- Step 9: Review all the entered information before clicking on ‘Attach Annexure.’
- Step 10: Upload all required documents and click ‘Save Annexure.’
- Step 11: After verifying all details, click on the ‘Submit’ button to finalize your application.
- Step 12: Print the ‘Acknowledgement Receipt’ generated for your records.
- Step 13: To monitor the status of your application, revisit the Labour Department’s official website and log in using your credentials.
- Step 14: Click on ‘Track Application Status’ and fill in the necessary details, followed by clicking ‘Get Data’ to view your application status.

Apply Online
Step 01: Applicants need to visit the official website of Labour Department Chandigarh: http://labour.chd.gov.in/
Step 02: On the home page, select the scheme ‘WIDOW PENSION’ under the Grant of Welfare Schemes to the workers of Chandigarh Labour Welfare Board.
Step 03: Read details of the scheme and on the bottom of the page, click on ‘Click here to Apply/Register

Step 04: If the applicant not register, click on ‘register yourself’. A ‘ServicePlus’ window/page will open and fill in all the details to register.
Step 05: Now, to apply for the scheme, click on ‘Apply for Service’ and use ‘ServicePlus’ credentials to Login i.e. ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’.
Step 06: After successful Login, the applicant will be redirected automatically to the online application page by clicking on the ‘Apply for Service’ tab.
Step 07: In the application form, fill in Applicant's Personal Details, select the scheme (Widow Pension) & Work Place Details. After furnishing all the mandatory details click on ‘Self-Declaration’ and fill in additional details.
Step 08: Enter the verification code/Captcha and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 09: Preview all the filled details and click on ‘Attach Annexure’.
Step 10: Upload all the mandatory documents and click on ‘Save Annexure’.
Step 11: After verifying all the details, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 12: Take a printout of the generated ‘Acknowledgement Receipt’ for future reference.
Step 13: To track the application status, the applicant can visit the official website of the Labour Department and login through their ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’.
Step 14: Click on ‘Track Application Status
’ and fill in all the details. Now click on ‘Get Data’ to know the status of your application.
