Additional Pension to Widow of Ex-Serviceman having Children
Introduction
The Government of Haryana has initiated a significant scheme known as “Additional Pension to Widow of Ex-Serviceman having Children” (अतिरिक्त पेंशन विधवा के लिए) to support the widows of ex-servicemen. This program, managed by the Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, aims to provide financial assistance to widows whose spouses passed away while in service, excluding deaths in combat. This initiative plays a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare of families of ex-servicemen.
Overview of the Scheme
The “Additional Pension to Widow of Ex-Serviceman having Children” scheme is specifically designed to offer an additional financial benefit to the widows of ex-servicemen who have lost their lives while serving in the armed forces but not in battle. Under this scheme, financial support is available for up to three children from the widow’s family. This support will continue until any of the children either pass away, reach the age of 20, get married, or secure employment, whichever comes first. The additional pension will be adjusted accordingly as each child reaches these milestones.
Benefits of the Scheme
The additional pension provided under this scheme varies based on the rank of the ex-serviceman. The following table outlines the eligibility criteria and corresponding pension amounts:

| 2 | JCOs | ₹150/- per child per month (maximum of ₹450/-) |
| 3 | Officers | ₹200/- per child per month (maximum of ₹600/-) |
