The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana is a pivotal initiative launched by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat, designed to bolster the participation of SC/ST entrepreneurs in the MSME sector. This scheme not only aims to enhance the global competitiveness of these enterprises but also actively contributes to employment generation and economic growth in the state.

Overview of the Scheme

Effective from August 7, 2020, to August 6, 2025, the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana serves as a comprehensive support system for the state’s MSME sector, which plays a critical role in the local economy. One of its key components is the Assistance to MSME Manufacturing Sector Participation in Exhibitions (National and International). This aspect of the scheme focuses on providing financial support to manufacturing MSMEs, encouraging them to participate in various exhibitions and trade fairs, both within India and abroad.

Benefits Offered

The financial assistance provided under this scheme varies based on the level of the exhibition:

  • State Level Exhibition: Up to ₹50,000 with 80% of expenses covered. Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme’s duration.
  • National Level Exhibition: Up to ₹1,00,000 with 80% of expenses covered. Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme’s duration.
  • International Level Exhibition (Within India): Up to ₹2,00,000 with 80% of expenses covered. Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme’s duration.
  • International Level Exhibition (Outside India): Up to ₹5,00,000 with 70% of expenses covered. Eligible for a maximum of 3 times during the scheme’s duration.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scheme, certain criteria must be met:

  • The enterprise must be registered as a Micro, Small, or Medium enterprise operated by an SC/ST entrepreneur.
  • Only manufacturing sector MSMEs are eligible for this scheme.
  • The enterprise should be actively producing within Gujarat for the entire duration of the scheme.
  • Participation in exhibitions or trade fairs must occur either within India or internationally.
  • International exhibitions must be sanctioned by recognized organizations such as the MSME Development Institute (MSME-DI), India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), EEPC India, Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO), or the state government.

Note: An SC/ST Enterprise is defined as one where the SC/ST entrepreneur holds a minimum of 51% ownership.

Exclusions

Enterprises that have availed assistance under this scheme are not permitted to benefit from any other state government scheme for the same purpose unless explicitly stated otherwise in that scheme.

Application Process

To apply for assistance, follow these steps:

Offline Registration Process:

  • Step 1: Navigate to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and click on “New Investor Registration” to access the registration form.
  • Step 2: Complete the Registration Form and click “Submit”.
  • Step 3: Verify your email ID using the link sent to your registered email address.
  • Step 4: Upon successful verification, your registration will be complete.

Post-Registration Steps:

  • Step 1: Return to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and click “Login”.
  • Step 2: Enter the email and password used during registration.
  • Step 3: Click “Login” to access your account.
  • Step 4: Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents regarding your business to finalize the application.

Micro, Small and Medium EnterpriseAn enterprise that meets the criteria established under the MSME Development Act, 2006, and has received acknowledgment of “Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum / Udyam Registration.
New EnterpriseAn MSME that has completed Udyog Aadhar / Udyam Registration and has commenced commercial production within the scheme’s operational period.
Existing EnterpriseAn MSME that began commercial production before the announcement of this scheme.
ExpansionWhen an existing or new enterprise increases its gross fixed capital investment by at least 50%, with 60% of this investment directed towards plant and machinery.
Gross Fixed Capital Investment (GFCI)Investment in buildings, plant and machinery, utilities, tools and equipment, and other assets (excluding land) for manufacturing the end product.
Term LoanA loan provided by financial institutions or banks (excluding NBFCs) for acquiring GFCI, with only disbursed amounts considered for incentives under the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

The firm must be a Micro/Small/Medium enterprise run by SC/ST entrepreneur.
Only MSME enterprises from the manufacturing sector are eligible.
The enterprise must be in production within Gujarat during the scheme's tenure.
The exhibition/trade fair must be organized in India or outside India.
International exhibitions must be approved by recognized bodies like the MSME Development Institute(MSME-DI), India Trade Promotion Organization(ITPO), EEPC India, Federation of Indian Export Organization(FIEO) etc. or state Government.

Note:
SC/ST Enterprise: SC/ST Enterprise means the enterprise in which contribution of SC/ST entrepreneur is 51% or more.

Benefits

State Level Exhibition:
Assistance: 80% of expenses, up to ₹50,000/-.
Duration: Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme's tenure.

National Level Exhibition:
Assistance: 80% of expenses, up to ₹1,00,000/-.
Duration: Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme's tenure.

International Level Exhibition (Inside India):
Assistance: 80% of expenses, up to ₹2,00,000/-.
Duration: Eligible for a maximum of 5 times during the scheme's tenure.

International Level Exhibition (Outside India):
Assistance: 70% of expenses, up to ₹5,00,000/-.
Duration: Eligible for a maximum of 3 times during the scheme's tenure.

Step-2: Fill in the Registration Form. Click on "Submit".
Step-3: Verify the E-mail ID using the link sent on your registered E-mail ID.
Step-4: After verification, you will be registered successfully.

Post-Registration Process:
Step-1: Visit the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP)
portal. Click on "Login".
Step-2: Enter the email address and password you used during registration.
Step-3: Click the "Login" button to access your account.
Step-4: Now fill in the required details and mandatory documents about your business to complete the application process.
