This scheme aims to promote sports as a viable career option by offering scholarships based on athletes’ competitive performances.

The “Khel Chhatravriti (Vritika) Yojana” focuses on aiding athletes from Jharkhand, encouraging them to pursue sports professionally. Under this initiative, scholarships are awarded according to the performance of athletes in recognized national and state-level competitions, thereby fostering a sports-centric culture in the state.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

• Performance-Based Financial Aid: Athletes receive monetary support contingent on their competitive ranking:
• National Championship Winners:
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place: ₹6,000 per month
• 4th to 8th Place: ₹4,000 per month
• State-Level Winners Qualifying for National Championships:
• 1st to 3rd Place: ₹3,000 per month
• Equivalent Performances: Athletes achieving national record-equivalent performances are entitled to ₹4,000 per month.
• Support for National Representation: Athletes who represent Jharkhand, after obtaining a No Objection Certificate from their respective states or organizations, can receive an allowance equivalent to their current salary or honorarium.
• Additional Financial Support: The funds can also be utilized for training, nutrition, and the acquisition of sports equipment.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
• Applicants should be active sportspersons.
• Scholarships are granted based on performance in recognized national or state-level sports competitions from the previous year.
• Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships or benefits under different sports schemes, such as free diet, accommodation, or stipend.

Important Note: If an applicant is currently availing benefits from other schemes, they must relinquish those benefits prior to applying for this scholarship.

• Download Application Form: Access the “Notice” section to find and download the “Khel Vritika (Sports Scholarship)” application form.
• Complete the Form: Fill in the application form with necessary details including personal information, competitive performance, and bank account information.
• Document Submission: Attach all required documents as specified. Ensure that all attachments are properly attested where necessary.
• Submit the Application: After completing the form and attaching the requisite documents, submit your application to the Directorate of Art, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs or the Jharkhand State Sports Authority.
