The Government of Goa has launched a scheme titled Financial Assistance To Purchase Singel Net / Small Rampon Net & Its Accessories under the auspices of the Department of Fisheries. This initiative aims to support the local fishing community by providing substantial subsidies for acquiring essential fishing gear.

The Financial Assistance To Purchase Singel Net / Small Rampon Net & Its Accessories initiative is designed to empower fishermen in Goa by offering a remarkable subsidy. Eligible participants can receive financial assistance amounting to 50% of the actual purchase cost, capped at ₹50,000. This support is available every five years, allowing fishermen to access critical fishing equipment and enhance their livelihoods.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• The applicant should be a traditional fisherman by birth or profession.
• Residency in Goa is mandatory for the applicant.
• Applicants must belong to the OBC (Kharvi) Community.
• The fishermen’s grandparents must have been residents of Goa.
• Eligible fishermen should not own registered fishing canoes or trawlers.
• Only one member per household may avail of this benefit.

Application Procedure

The application process for this scheme is straightforward and consists of the following steps:

Offline Application Steps

• Step 1: Download and print the prescribed application form.
• Step 2: Complete the application form by filling in all required fields, attaching a passport-sized photograph (signed across if necessary), and including copies of requisite documents (self-attested when required).
• Step 3: Submit the completed application form along with all necessary documents to the Department of Fisheries located at Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Patto Colony, Panaji, Goa – 403 521, or to the official at the BDO Office/Sub-Offices of the Department of Fisheries.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In case of any complaints or dissatisfaction regarding the services rendered under this scheme, individuals can reach out to the Department’s Grievance Redressal Officer. Complaints can also be submitted via email at dir-fish.goa@nic.in. Each grievance will be acknowledged, and a resolution will be communicated within a span of 30 days.
