House of Himalayas
The scheme aims to provide recognition and market reach to local Himalayan products of Uttarakhand through improved branding, packaging and sales. Under this scheme, local producers and self-help groups are supported to enhance their products’ quality, branding and market access.
About This Scheme
The scheme “House of Himalayas” has been launched by the Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand. It aims to provide a new identity to local Himalayan products of Uttarakhand by improving their branding, marketing, quality and packaging, and supporting them to reach national and international markets.
Benefits
New Recognition for Local Products: Under the House of the Himalayas banner, various products from Uttarakhand are gaining recognition at both national and international levels. This initiative will help establish local brands on the global stage.
Women’s Empowerment: Women associated with self-help groups (SHGs) across all districts of the state are becoming economically empowered. This initiative provides them with employment opportunities and financial independence.
Market Access and Expansion: The House of Himalayas focuses on branding, marketing, quality improvement, and packaging of its products. This enables local products to reach larger markets.
Quality Control: Quality Control: Plans have been made to ensure quality control through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Livelihood Collectives (LCs), and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs).
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
The applicant must be a member of a Self-Help Group (SHG), a Community-Based Organization (CBO), a woman entrepreneur, a Local Collective (LC), or a Cluster Level Federation (CLF) formed under any scheme run by the various departments of the Government of Uttarakhand.
