The Konkani Drama Competition is an esteemed cultural initiative spearheaded by the Kala Academy under the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa. This annual event aims to foster and enhance theatrical performances among various institutions in Goa, creating a vibrant platform for local talent to shine.
Overview of the Scheme
The Konkani Drama Competition serves as a state-level cultural platform organized each year by the Kala Academy. Its primary objective is to promote theatre arts within Goan institutions. Announcements for participation are made via press releases in local newspapers. Institutions that are duly registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and have renewed their registration are invited to take part in this exciting competition.
Participating institutions benefit from the reimbursement of transport costs for two vehicles to facilitate the transportation of artists and stage materials, in accordance with government rates and the established norms of the Kala Academy.

Eligibility Criteria
- The institution must have an active and valid registration at the time of application.
- Registration should be under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
Application Process
Interested applicants need to follow these steps for offline application:
- Print the prescribed application form available on the official website of Kala Academy, Goa.
- Complete all mandatory fields in the application form, affix a passport-sized photograph (signed as necessary), and attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
- Submit the filled and signed application form along with the documents to the Member Secretary of Kala Academy, Goa, within any specified deadlines.
- Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the authority upon submission, ensuring it contains essential details such as submission date, time, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
It is crucial to ensure that the application is submitted within the designated timeline, if applicable. Public entry to the performances is charged at ₹50/- per ticket. For grievance redressal, individuals may approach the Member Secretary or Chairman of the Kala Academy, Goa.

Application Process
Apply OfflineStep 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format
of the application form available on the official website of Kala Academy, Goa.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Member Secretary, Kala Academy, Goa.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
