Trekking in Forest Area (Scheduled Tribes)

The scheme “Trekking in Forest Area (Scheduled Tribes)” by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to promote love and awareness for nature among youth by organizing trekking programs in forest areas for selected Scheduled Tribes young men and women.

About This Scheme

The scheme “Trekking in Forest Area (Scheduled Tribes)” by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to instill a deep love for nature, pristine landscapes, wild animals and birds, trees, mountains, springs, and ravines among the Scheduled Tribes youth of the state by directly engaging them in a forest trekking experience. Under this initiative, a forest area rotation program is conducted for 100 selected young men and women, giving them immersive exposure to natural surroundings and biodiversity.

Benefits

Nature Immersion Experience: The selected beneficiaries will have the opportunity to participate in a guided forest trekking program designed to foster a love for nature and environmental awareness.

Exposure to Biodiversity: Participants will get firsthand experience of pristine natural sites, including forests, wildlife, birds, trees, springs, mountains, and ravines.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.

The applicant should belong to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category.

The applicant should be between 15 and 35 years of age.

Application Process

Step 1: The interested applicant should download the prescribed format of the

application form

Step 2: In the application form, provide all the mandatory details, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).

Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the supporting documents to the office of the District Youth Development Officer.

Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted.
